The Palm Beach County School District (PBCSD) is recognized throughout the state and country for its excellent schools and programs. Serving more than 170,000 K-12 students at 164 public schools during the 2005-06 school year, PBCSD is the fourth largest school district in the state and 10th largest in the nation.
Due to Palm Beach County’s rapid growth, the School Concurrency Program projects future school enrollment, building and renovating schools to accommodate the expected needs. With more than an estimated 205,000 students in 2015, the program, which is the only of its kind in the state, enables PBCSD to continue offering every student a quality education.
Scoring among the highest in the state, 84 Palm Beach County schools are A schools, with 37 earning Bs and 24 earning Cs. Additionally, PBCSD earned an overall A rating from the Florida Department of Education and was the only school district in the state’s “Big 7” and in South Florida to receive that distinction.
Recognized at a national level as well, Atlantic Community High School and Dreyfoos School of the Arts were listed in Newsweek’s “100 Best High Schools in America.” Also, Expansion Management magazine, a national publication geared toward corporate executives looking to relocate or expand, ranked our area as third among the 65 largest metropolitan areas in terms of the quality of high schools.
